Joe is very happy to return to the Seattle area
where he spent his formative years. For the last twelve years Joe has resided in
the Bellingham area. He graduated from Western Washington University after
attending Blanchet High School, here in Seattle. While in Bellingham, he began
his golf career at Lake Padden Municipal Golf Course. Although a late starter,
he learned quickly and became a scratch player in three years.
In 1992, Joe turned professional and began to
work at Bellingham Golf and Country Club. Here his love of teaching began. In
addition to his many duties, he coordinated and developed a nationally
recognized junior golf program. Shortly after being elected to the PGA, Joe
moved on to become the Head golf professional at Homestead golf club in Lynden.
There he continued his strong teaching programs as well as coaching the two area
High School golf teams.
Eager to teach his love of the game, Joe jumped
at the opportunity to return home and teach here at Interbay. Grounded in the
philosophies and teachings of Jimmy Ballard, Joe is ready to assist players of
all abilities to perform at their best. Having played many sports, Joe believes
golf is a target game and each individual must react positively to the target to
be successful. In addition, an accomplished golfer must focus on more than just
mechanics to maximize potential. Intelligent course management, a sound routine,
nutrition, and a healthy mind and body must also be present. Joe’s approach is
very simple and straightforward. Please stop by and feel free to ask him any
questions.
