A Washington native, Pete Dixon’s passion for
golf began at age 13. Before he turned 15, he was posting rounds in the
seventies and at age 16, he broke par with a one-under par seventy. Pete began
his PGA career as an assistant at Grays Harbor Country Club in Aberdeen,
Washington in 1981. Next, he served as Head Professional at the Lake Wilderness
Golf Course in Maple Valley, Washington from 1983-1987. In 1991 Pete earned his
"Class A" professional membership into the PGA. As a professional,
Pete has won two Pacific Northwest PGA events. In his second victory, his
professional highlight, Pete defeated a field of sixty-four Northwest PGA
professionals with a five-under par sixty-seven at the Harbor Pointe Golf Club
in 1989.
Pete’s full time teaching career began in
1987 at the Kaddyshack Lynwood Golf Range. As the Head Teaching Professional,
Pete taught over 1500 golf lessons a year. All told, he has taught over 18,00
lessons at Kaddyshack. Pete has also developed and taught 30 golf clinics,
conducted over 100 playing lessons and has worked extensively with junior
golfers. Three of Pete’s beginning junior golf students later went on to win
Washington State Junior Events.
In 1999, Pete relocated to Interbay. Shortly
after arriving, he was certified as a Colbert/Ballard instructor by Jimmy
Ballard. Like so many other professionals, Pete was profoundly effected by Jimmy
Ballard’s swing fundamentals and the effects can be seen in the way he teaches
today and in the golfing success his students enjoy. With 19 years of PGA
experience, Pete is ready to pass along these easy to understand proven
fundamentals to all his students, from the beginner to the advanced. He
considers it a privilege to have the opportunity to teach you.
