Ron started playing golf at the age of four.
Growing up in Yakima, he played junior golf through his teens and was a member
of the AAA State High School Championship Golf Team his senior year. He played
four years of college golf at Central Washington University where he also played
basketball.
Ron comes to Interbay having been the Head
Professional at Fairwood Golf and Country Club for seven years and the First
Assistant at Overlake Golf and Country Club the three preceding years. He became
a Class "A" PGA Professional in 1990 and has always taken pride in his
teaching accomplishments. He has worked successfully with several Nike and
satellite tour players, top adult and junior amateur players and countless
golfers who wished to improve their golf games.
Before coming to Interbay and the
Colbert/Ballard Golf School, Ron’s own teaching philosophy paralleled the
beliefs of Jimmy Ballard. It has been very easy for him to embrace our Golf
School’s teaching methods. Ron has an innate ability to present vivid and
understandable examples that enable students of all levels to understand and
duplicate the mechanics of the golf swing. His patience and demeanor allow his
students to feel comfortable and at ease in their golf experience.
